Dana Page –Teacher of Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, Modern and Musical Theatre

Dana received her training at the McBride School of Dancing and successfully passed her R.A.D. exams from Primary to Advanced 2. Dana has been very active and successful at local dance festival competitions throughout the Lower Mainland. While a student here, she captured the audience with her lively, entertaining performances in our annual year-end shows. She studied Jazz at our studio and at various other studios throughout the years.

Dana has also performed several major roles for the Royal City Youth Ballet Company. She graduated from Fleetwood Park High School and is currently completing an honours degree from SFU in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Dana is also extensively involved as a volunteer for the Cancer Society.

Dana has been teaching dance at the studio for three years and has also given private coaching to our students, as well as to Irish dancers. She has taught a specially-designed class for figure skaters and joined Heather McBride in teaching at a summer camp in Ucluelet. Dana loves dance and instills this joy in everyone she teaches.

Jenessa Stobbs (Hanley) – Teacher of Jazz, Lyrical Jazz and Modern

Jenessa Stobbs (Hanley) - teacher
Jenessa began her training in Edmonton, where she studied Modern, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical and Tap. After her training in a pre-professional program and upon completion of Advanced Ballet and Tap exams, she began her career as a dancer and teacher in the Edmonton area.

Jenessa moved to Vancouver, where she continued her training and became a graduate of Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Contemporary Dance. Since graduation, Jenessa has been working as an independent choreographer, performer and dance instructor. Throughout her career, she has performed extensively throughout Canada and also internationally in such places as London, Paris, Euro Disney, Rome, Florence, New York and Las Vegas.

Jenessa has taught throughout Alberta and British Columbia in addition to traveling to Romania to teach in a summer intensive for the Ministry of Education and Culture. She has worked with various companies including Orchesis Dance, Hyperflex, Edmonton Dance Excel and the 30Toes dance collective.

Recently, Jenessa finished the professional development program at Simon Fraser University and will be an elementary school teacher in the public school system. Jenessa is currently dancing with Diskordanse and teaching dance throughout the Lower Mainland. Jenessa has been teaching at McBride School of Dancing for six years.
